CLI’s staff is constantly working with clients to discover
needs and uncover functions that can be improved within the operations
and administrative areas of transportation companies. The company
also seeks technology outside the industry to bring it into the
transportation field; i.e., voice response mobile data terminals,
remote image processing, GPS and RFID technologies etc.
All software provided to the customer, including operating systems
and languages, are under continued maintenance. Enhancements and
updates are distributed on a regular basis. And to minimize disruption,
updates on the application software, operating system, and PROGRESS
are grouped together and scheduled for no more than twice a year,
unless an update is so significant that it must be performed immediately.
CLI has a formal methodology for continued application development:
- Through customer requests or as a result of company planning
sessions, development projects are identified.
- The selected projects are assigned to the Application Manager
for the particular area of the system or module responsibility.
- The Application Manager is responsible for developing a detailed
quotation for the development project.
- The Application Manager is responsible for managing the application
developers, reviewing the results, testing, and if necessary,
modifying and reviewing the results again.
- Finally, the results are delivered to a test environment and
assessed with a customer before moving to production.
